Successful consulting project in cooperation with GlaxosmithKline (GSK) and George Washington University

Two professors from two different countries – one common goal: to provide their students with an exceptional learning experience and simultaneously support an ambitious corporation in a consulting project in the business ethics field. Having received both methodological and subject-specific training at their respective universities, the students met in Vienna for one intensive collaboration week.

From 26th to 29th June 2017, FHWien der WKW hosted the “Dealmaking for Social Impact – Consulting for GlaxoSmithKline” class that gave students from George Washington University and FHWien der WKW the opportunity to collaborate and to work on a real case at GSK Austria. Guided by Markus Scholz (FHWien der WKW) and Gastón de los Reyes (George Washington University), the students worked in teams to prepare detailed solutions and recommendations for the long-term positioning of GSK regarding strategy and business ethics. During a final meeting at the GSK office, the students presented their ideas and were happy to discuss them with interested GSK staff.
