Dr. Daniela Ortiz Avram
Daniela leads the „City of Vienna Competence Team for Sustainable, Strategic and Opportunity-Oriented Management of SMEs“, which is part of the Center for Corporate Governance and Business Ethics at the University of Applied Sciences for Management & Communication. Before joining the University of Applied Sciences for Management & Communication, Daniela worked as associate researcher at the Markets, Culture and Ethics Research Centre (MCE) based at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome (www.mceproject.org). She has accumulated hands-on experience as a consultant on the management and development of research projects at the interface between academia and private business. She has also worked as a research assistant and lecturer of Business Ethics in the Department of Management & Law at Management Center Innsbruck.
Her research focuses on strategic corporate sustainability in SMEs, as well as teaching responsible and sustainable business. She has also worked on the ethical and anthropological foundations of the free market system, and the guiding principles of sustainable and ethical management.
She has written and presented several papers on strategic CSR, as well as on the principles of a humanistic economy according to the German tradition of ordoliberalism. Her work has been published in the Journal of Business Ethics, the Journal of Cleaner Production and the International Journal of Management Education.
Daniela is a member of the European Business Ethics Network (EBEN).
