Strategy and Competitiveness
The Center for Strategy & Competitiveness (CSC) endeavors to promote rigorous academic research into the concepts of strategy and competitiveness, as well as the relationships between them.
One specialty of this Center is its emphasis on strategy and competitiveness in the context of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), as well as family businesses. In this regard, the Center supports research examining how SMEs and family business can improve their (respective) market positions.
Another specialty of the Center is its focus on the competitiveness of regions and cities. To this end, the Center supports investigations into how cluster development initiatives can advance the expansion of regional economies and thus refine and improve economic policy.
In pursuit of the above aims, goals, and specialities, the Center’s members conduct research, host academic and professional events, and teach at the university-level about strategy and competitiveness.
The CSC is an affiliate institution of Harvard Business School’s Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness led by Professor Michael E. Porter.
